Apply to Join OC-APA TEAMS!


The Orange Section of the American Planning Association (OC-APA) created the "TEAMS" program to support its individual members and member companies, cities, and organizations. We understand that training budgets are more constrained than ever, so OC-APA is providing direct financial support to help members continue to gain the valuable education and professional development they need.


In addition to receiving financial support, TEAMS participants will develop valuable organizational and management skills by serving on the OC-APA Board of Directors. Participants will lead their own programs/events and work with a diverse team of planners around Orange County. Plus, joining the Board gives planners an opportunity to hone their soft skills in decision-making, goal-setting, taking initiative, and following-through.


To be eligible, you must be a current APA Member, commit to serving a one-year term on the OC-APA Board of Directors, obtain supervisor approval, and lead an APA program, event, or initiative.

If selected, APA Orange Section will reimburse up to $700 towards any of your professional development expenses. Participants may apply their OC-APA TEAMS reimbursement towards their conference registration fees, AICP certification application, APA membership dues, continuing education, etc.


Funding for this program is limited, and applications will be reviewed on a first-come basis, so early submission is highly encouraged.
