Amber Gregg
Legislative Chair
Amber Gregg is the CEO and Founder of Community Catalyst, a boutique Planning and Entitlement Firm. With over 20 years of municipal planning experience, Amber saw an opportunity to help public and private development work in a way that helps facilitate projects and community vision. In 2018, she started her own firm, Amber Gregg Planning & Entitlements, focusing on coastal development, housing, historic preservation, and local legislation.
By 2021 the company had grown and needed a name that reflected the organization, and Community Catalyst was born. Community Catalyst isn’t just a name, it’s a vision that recognizes that all urban planners are Community Catalysts, and they have the opportunity to spark change wherever they go. Wanting to become a true force that inspires the transformation of places into great spaces, at Community Catalyst we strive to be an impetus for change to improve the quality of life in communities, and collaborate on creative implementable planning solutions for projects to become a catalyst for progress.

An established industry thought leader, Amber serves on multiple board of directors including Leadership Tomorrow, PierPride and American Planning Association (OC-APA). She is serving as the Co-Chair of the 2022 CA-APA Conference, is active on the CA-APA Legislative Review Board, and serves on the OC-APA Board as the Legislative Chair. Married to fellow planner, Sean Nicholas, you can often find them camping around the state, or hunting for new adventures, with their two kiddos and nerding out over planning trends along the way.
