Planning Director's Association of Orange County, International Code Council Orange Empire Chapter, & OC American Planning Association Present:

On August 3, 2023, the 20th Annual Summer Golf Tournament in memory of Bob Goldin and Robert “Bob” Storchheim was held. The golf tournament - jointly sponsored by the Planning Directors Association of Orange County (PDAOC), International Code Council (ICC) Orange Empire Chapter, and APA Orange Section - was established to raise funds to benefit local students. Many golfers came together at Strawberry Farms Golf Club in Irvine for an afternoon of golfing and fundraising to support the future of our professions.

The golf tournament fundraiser has been in place since 2006, with the first venue held at Arroyo Trabuco GC (Mission Viejo). Other venues since included the Monarch Beach golf links (Dana Point), Pelican Hill GC (Newport Beach), Tustin Ranch GC (Tustin), Los Coyotes CC (Buena Park), Black Gold GC (Yorba Linda), and Oak Creek GC (Irvine).

 

Each organization takes turn over the years to put forth this annual event to give back to the next generation of planners and building technicians, plan checkers, inspectors, and future directors and building officials. All proceeds from the golf tournament supports student scholarships in the memory of Bob Goldin and Bob Storchheim. 

 

We are happy to report that nearly $9,500.00 was raised to support future scholarships for local students.
