Ryan Bensley
Co-Vice Director for Programs
Ryan Bensley, AICP is a Principal in LSA’s Irvine office. Ryan is one of the leaders in LSA’s environmental planning group and is responsible for managing the preparation of environmental documents for a broad range of transportation and land development projects throughout Southern California. His strong communication skills, attention to detail, proven ability to work under pressure and extensive experience with community issues make him particularly suited to working with multidisciplinary teams on highly scrutinized projects.
With more than 15 years of planning experience, Ryan is passionate about mentorship and giving back to the planning profession. He enjoys connecting with other planners and regularly attends professional conferences where he often leads panel sessions about emerging environmental topics. Ryan’s professional interests include environmental justice issues, affordable housing, and the expansion of safe bike routes. Ryan earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Geography from California State University, Long Beach, specializing in urban planning and GIS.
Fun Fact.
Ryan is an avid outdoorsman and loves hiking, cycling, and kayaking throughout Southern California as much as he can. One of his favorite pastimes is swapping adventure stories with old and new friends.
