The California Planning Foundation (CPF) is APA California’s nonprofit foundation. Relying on your donations and fund-raising activities, CPF annually awards approximately $50,000 in student scholarships and memberships in APA. The Orange Section Student Scholarship Silent Auction held in May was a huge success.
CPF is now accepting donations for the 2014 Frank Wein Auction that will take place on Monday, September 15, during Happy Hour and the Consultant’s Reception at the APA California Conference in Anaheim, CA. At the 2013 APA California Conference in Visalia, $27,725 was raised in auction and raffle proceeds to be applied to CPF student scholarships. As the 2014 local host, Orange Section hopes that the auction at the conference in Anaheim will raise even more money for this wonderful cause. Orange Section members can support this effort by donating an auction item, bidding at the auction, and purchasing raffle tickets at the Conference.
This year CPF’s auction coordinators are Darcy Kremin, AICP and Wendy Grant, AICP. If you have items you would like to donate to the auction, please contact Wendy at wgrant@placeworks.com or (714) 966-9220. Donations are due to Wendy Grant, AICP by 5 pm on Wednesday, September 10. The donation form is available online at http://www.californiaplanningfoundation.org/auction.html.
Popular items include wine, gourmet treats, microbrews, gift certificates, autographed memorabilia, professional services/education/training, vacations (cabins, time shares, hotels, etc.), historic maps and books, and gift baskets of all kinds. Orange Section members should inform OCAPA’s CPF Representative Michelle Halligan at mhalligan@placeworks.com of any donations so she can recognize our donors in follow-up publications. Thank you for continuing to support the next generation of planners.
