Alexis Bueno

Alexis Bueno is a Project Manager at Harris & Associates, where she works on housing policy, land use planning, and community development initiatives throughout Southern California. While her current role is Project Manager, she identifies first and foremost as a planner – grounded in thoughtful policy design, implementation strategy, and community impact.

She holds a Master of Urban and Regional Planning from Cal Poly Pomona and earned her undergraduate degree in Biology with a concentration in Ecology and Conservation at Cal State Fullerton. Her background allows her to approach planning holistically, recognizing how housing, equity, and environmental systems intersect in everyday community.

Alexis’s work focuses broadly on housing strategy and implementation, including helping cities develop funding tools, affordability programs, land use solutions, and long-term housing frameworks that respond to evolving state requirements and local needs. She enjoys working at the intersection of policy, feasibility, and real-world implementation.

As Co-Marketing Chair, she’s excited to help APA Orange Section expand its digital presence, increase event engagement, and build a stronger sense of community among planners at every stage of their careers.

Fun Facts.

Outside of planning, Alexis loves interior design, antiquing, and curating an ever-growing collection of Pinterest boards. She’s usually DIYing, hunting for vintage finds, or trying to keep up with TV and movie culture (she never misses an award show).
