UC Irvine Master of Urban and Regional Planning Program Survey

Invitation to participate in an online UCI survey

Hello Planning Professional:

This is Professor Scott Bollens at UC Irvine and, in cooperation with the Orange Section of APA California, I would like your assistance in helping us build an even stronger Master of Urban and Regional Planning (MURP) program at UC Irvine. I hope you will be able to complete an easy 16-question online survey that should take no more than 20 minutes. The Orange Section has allowed us to invite their membership of planning professionals to participate, for which I am deeply appreciative.

The survey asks you about your impressions of our MURP program and seeks your evaluation of important program documents involving our mission statement, vision, and goals.

This survey is part of our external accreditation review which will occur Fall 2013 and Spring 2014. Surveying stakeholder communities, such as planning practitioners, is a key part of external Planning Accreditation Board guidelines.

If you participate, you would be contributing toward three goals:

- Improving MURP curriculum and program content.
- Increasing MURP program accountability.
- Assisting us in the development of program vision, mission, and goals.

Completing this survey should take no more than 20 minutes. All responses are anonymous and are for the sole purpose of obtaining general feedback and impressions about our professional planning degree.

To begin the survey, please click on this link and thank you.

We need a Conference Theme!

The 2014 State APA Conference is coming to the OC and we need a theme.
Every year the State Conference has a theme that directs the content, events
and program of the Conference. 2014 OCAPA will be the host for the State
Conference. The conference will be at the Disneyland Hotel. We would like
to have a theme that represents the amazing planning that is happening here
in Orange County, our diversity, our creativity and of course a nod to the
Magic Kingdom. Previous themes included:

2013 - Planning Under the Sun ( Visalia)
2012 - Prepare Plan Preserve (Rancho Mirage)
2011 - Mission Possible (Santa Barbara)
2010 - Coast Canyon Crest (La Costa)
2009 - Long Views - Greater Vision

So take a time, collaborate with a friend and help us come up with an
inspirational and engaging theme for 2014.

Submit your ideas to carrie@lilleyplanning.com by 5:00 pm on April 15!
